#3 is the opening line of “Last Song for You” from the 1996 release “Whisper of Wind,” the freshman opus of folk-acoustic duo Matt Hibbard Charlie Rod (whose principals greatly resemble younger versions of the midwest darling Central Standard Time).

I happen to own *two* signed and numbered copies of this gem (#s 12 and 17, if anyone’s wondering…).

I may not qualify for #1 fan status, but this has got to place me solidly in the top ten.

Greg, Central Standard Time is written by the Kendalls, of course. How could you forget.

Also, I’m pretty sure #6 comes from a Peter Mayer song about amnesia. I’m not sure what it’s called, but the chorus goes “That blessed disease, makes you forget, who is a foe, not a friend. That blessed disease, if we’re lucky you’ll spread, and strike every head, so we can start over again.”

I’m bad at knowing titles to songs, but can I still get credit?

Man, I didn’t even know this blog was back in business or I would have jumped on #1 faster than a Goat-driven Harley. It is, of course, “Central Standard Time”, memorably performed by Purrs of Rage and written by… shoot. I know all the lyrics but I can’t remember the original band. This is gonna bug me.
